From first conversation to final delivery: a detailed look at every stage of your MaisonRoboto commission. Sixteen weeks of precision, artistry, and engineering.
Every bespoke commission follows eight carefully orchestrated stages, each building upon the last. The full timeline typically spans 15 to 16 weeks for a standard commission.
Every commission begins with a conversation. We meet with you, either virtually or at our Paris atelier, to understand your vision, context, and requirements. This is where we learn about your robot's role, your brand identity, your aesthetic preferences, and any technical constraints. We discuss collection options, materials, and budget parameters to ensure alignment from the very first meeting.
Our engineering team conducts a comprehensive assessment of your specific robot unit. Even within the same platform model, individual units can have variations from firmware versions, aftermarket modifications, or wear patterns. We perform precision 3D scanning, document all sensor locations, map heat dissipation zones, and catalogue every articulation point. This data forms the foundation of all pattern engineering.
Our design team develops multiple concept directions based on your brief and platform data. Each concept includes detailed illustrations, material selections, colour palettes, and construction approach. We source and present material samples, from proprietary technical textiles to luxury fabrics, and discuss the performance characteristics of each option. You select your preferred direction, which we refine to perfection.
The most technically intensive phase. Our pattern engineers translate the approved design into precision patterns that account for every joint, sensor, and thermal zone. We construct a full prototype using development fabrics, testing fit, articulation, and function. This prototype is iterated multiple times in our atelier, with our engineers evaluating each version against the platform's full range of motion.
The refined prototype is fitted on your actual robot unit. Our team verifies fit across all articulation positions, confirms sensor transparency windows, and validates heat dissipation performance. We calibrate any integrated technology elements and test the garment under realistic operating conditions. This is a critical milestone where design meets reality, and where adjustments are documented for final production.
Based on fitting data, our master artisans begin final production using the selected materials. Every seam is placed with sub-millimetre precision. Hand-finishing techniques are applied by artisans with decades of couture experience. Any adjustments identified during the first fitting are incorporated, and the garment is refined to the exacting standards that define MaisonRoboto. This is where craft transcends engineering.
The completed garment undergoes our rigorous quality assurance protocol. This includes 200-point visual inspection, stress testing across all articulation ranges, 48-hour continuous wear simulation, wash and care cycle testing, and electromagnetic compatibility verification. Every garment must pass all QA benchmarks before it leaves our atelier. We do not compromise on quality, and neither should you.
The culmination of your commission. Our team delivers and installs the garment on your robot, ensuring perfect presentation. We provide comprehensive documentation including care instructions, maintenance schedules, and emergency removal procedures. For corporate and hospitality clients, we train designated staff on garment care, dressing procedures, and daily maintenance. Your commission is complete, but our relationship continues.
Sixteen weeks from now, your robot could be wearing something extraordinary. The journey begins with a single conversation.
