General Questions

About Fashion for Humanoid Robots

What is fashion for humanoid robots?

Fashion for humanoid robots refers to custom clothing and garments designed specifically for humanoid robot platforms like Tesla Optimus, Xpeng Iron, Boston Dynamics Atlas, Figure 03, 1X NEO, and others. These garments combine aesthetic design with technical engineering to create clothing that looks elegant while accommodating the robot's mechanical specifications, joint articulation, and range of motion.

Unlike human fashion, robot fashion must account for factors like sensor transparency, heat dissipation, maintenance access, and precise fit around mechanical joints. At MaisonRoboto, we combine traditional couture techniques with engineering expertise to create garments that are both beautiful and functional.

Why would I want clothes for my humanoid robot?

There are several compelling reasons to invest in fashion for humanoid robots. First, clothing provides personalization, allowing you to express your style and preferences through your robot's appearance. Second, in corporate or hospitality settings, professional attire projects competence and aligns with your brand identity.

Third, clothing can make robots more approachable and comfortable for human interaction, particularly in domestic settings. Fourth, for events and activations, statement fashion can transform your robot into a memorable brand ambassador. Finally, for many owners, their humanoid robot represents significant investment and values, and quality fashion reflects that commitment.

Platform Questions

Clothes for Specific Robots

Can you make clothes for Tesla Optimus?

Yes, MaisonRoboto specializes in custom clothes for Tesla Optimus. Our garments are engineered to accommodate the Optimus platform's specifications, including its 173cm height, 57kg weight, and 40 degrees of freedom. We ensure perfect articulation while maintaining elegant appearance.

We offer a range of Tesla Optimus fashion options, from business suits for corporate environments to casual domestic wear for household applications. Our patterns are developed specifically for the Tesla Optimus platform and refined through extensive testing to ensure optimal fit and function.

Do you create fashion for Xpeng Iron?

Absolutely. Xpeng Iron is one of our primary platforms, and creating fashion for Xpeng Iron requires specialized expertise due to its extraordinary 82 degrees of freedom and bionic spine system. Standard garment construction cannot accommodate this level of articulation.

Our Xpeng Iron couture features articulated panels, strategic stretch zones, and innovative seaming that work with the platform's human like movement rather than against it. We use advanced materials including four way stretch technical fabrics and flexible seam tapes to create garments that move as fluidly as the robot itself.

What other humanoid robot platforms do you support?

We create fashion for all major humanoid robot platforms, including Boston Dynamics Atlas, Figure 03, 1X NEO, Agility Digit, Sanctuary Phoenix, Unitree robots, and more. Our atelier maintains detailed specifications for each platform and develops custom patterns that accommodate their unique characteristics.

We also work with proprietary and custom platforms. If you have a humanoid robot not listed on our website, contact our atelier. We can conduct technical surveys and develop patterns for virtually any humanoid form factor.

Will the clothes interfere with my robot's operation?

No. Every garment from MaisonRoboto is engineered to maintain full operational capability. We use sensor transparent materials where needed, design for heat dissipation in critical areas, and ensure complete freedom of movement across all degrees of freedom.

Our prototype stage includes extensive functional testing across the robot's full range of motion. We refine seam placement, fastening systems, and material selection until the garment performs flawlessly. Many clients report that our garments actually enhance their robot's presentation without any impact on operation.

Commission Questions

Ordering Custom Robot Clothing

How much does custom robot clothing cost?

Custom robot clothing prices vary based on complexity, materials, and design requirements. Bespoke commissions from MaisonRoboto, where we create entirely original designs from concept to completion, typically start at EUR 75,000. This investment reflects the extraordinary craftsmanship, premium materials, and engineering expertise involved.

We also offer modified designs based on existing patterns at lower price points, and fleet programs for corporate clients deploying multiple robots. Contact our atelier with your specific requirements for a personalized quote.

How long does a bespoke commission take?

Timeline depends on the scope of your commission. Modified designs based on existing patterns typically require 4 to 8 weeks. Fully bespoke creations, including consultation, design development, prototype construction, and final production, typically require 12 to 20 weeks.

For fleet programs or complex projects, timelines vary based on scope. We recommend beginning conversations well in advance of any deadline to ensure adequate time for perfection.

What is the commission process?

Our commission process follows six stages. First, initial consultation where we discuss your vision and requirements. Second, technical survey where our engineers document your robot's specifications. Third, design development where we create concept renderings and select materials.

Fourth, prototype engineering where we construct and test initial garments. Fifth, final production with hand finishing by master artisans. Sixth, delivery and installation where our team dresses your robot and provides care instructions.

Care Questions

Maintaining Robot Fashion

How do I care for robot clothing?

Care requirements depend on the specific garment and materials used. All MaisonRoboto pieces include detailed care documentation. Many of our garments feature stain resistant nano coatings and can be spot cleaned for daily maintenance.

For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional services familiar with technical textiles. Some domestic garments are designed for machine washing. We also offer maintenance and refresh services for clients who prefer to return garments to our atelier for professional care.

Can garments be altered if my robot is updated?

In many cases, yes. If your robot receives software or hardware updates that affect its physical dimensions or range of motion, our atelier can assess whether existing garments can be modified. Minor alterations are often possible.

For significant platform changes, we may recommend commissioning new garments optimized for the updated specifications. Contact our atelier to discuss your situation.
